So as promised I sat down, due to this week’s trivial but yet somehow disturbing incidents...magically happened, it was during this time that all the many suggestions and opinions that you guys the readers of this one month old blog suggested (having to say the response has been overwhelming and humbling). Alot of the suggestions which I received seemed to be pointing towards the blog needing to be more current and relevant but albeit have readers read the introduction I had said that I shall serve as a space of enlightment that has no genre or time barriers but of issues and spaces be there news, fashion, photography, fine arts right up to the much travelled avenues of music. But as all writers before me and even those that shall keep the Florence Nightingale light burning I shall try at times and steer towards the commercial market so long as it keeps in line with my truth!
This week what caught my eye was the social network drama that evoked on “Twitter” which seems to be the rich man’s upgrade from the newly Facebook .The matter at hand being the scandal of a “GOSSIP GIRL“clone that seemed to have appeared out of thin Brazilian h’AIR named @Top_Gossip1 (some people really need to wake up of U.S.A fickle land). As any other gossip reporter the account was strictly anonymous and did however spread like a wild fire due to the content that was being spilt.... it is at this point that I have to disclaim that I have no intention of starting no war or to take sides nor name anyone but my actions are of simple blogging. It is here that many a scandals of some of Durban’s most prominent socialites and entertainers were spilt with no shame or mercy, where people’s reputations and secrets were both crushed as well as exposed from dated Marie Stopes visits to threesomes that don’t leave much to the imagination to juices that were allegedly shared eeeeuw!(gaging at nutritional value thought). This became a trending sensation over night with many followers gained since then. But what one starts to wonder is what would make one stoop to this level; I having a couple of good friends implicated in the rumours and allegations that were set on fire. I started to pray that let it not be a gay guy as we shall all carry the burden of friendships and trust torn because let’s face it, gay guys sure do love drama and most especially if it involves scandal, sex and money be it from them playing the leading pimps to them being allowed to be flaunted as the latest “Jimmy Choo” accessory. This not being the first gossip mill to break out like H.I.V on darkies, many did not last as eventually people get bored and start getting over the hype of it, it is at this point where the reputations and lives that this mill has torn apart have to be put to pieces together and boy do people pray in the dark just as much as they sin, be it them repenting form drug treatments to repents that they feel they deserve. What is more dangerous is when they pray for justice and revenge....especially when they lay in a bed of matrimony ,as many of the named financial fat cats are respectable married men. But this brings light to a bigger problem at hand which is the issue of young “sugar babies” chasing after “Louis Vuittons” form the wrong avenues although some may argue that if you don’t want you dirty lil lady tid bits to be hanged out on display then don’t do anything that shall taint your name as unfortunately the sad truth is that they all are sipping on the same Moet Chandon glass. Durban unlike many other cities is really small so what one does in the dark is surely bound to surface into light and that is a fact. Many a beauties that have graced hot spots lounge seats pay a high price for sitting in these chairs and V.I.P circles as the raise up that bottle there panties drop even lower. With this said though no one ever has a right to publicly humiliate another as the thousands of followers that seem to be jumping on this wagon are mere outsiders who have no understanding nor any grasping of what really happened ,as for gossip writers it is very easy and amusing for them to tear up peoples reputations without even flicking a wig but the fact lies in the statement that “karma is an STD infested bitch “that we all must answer to .This not being me defended some of the named and shamed but coming for a humane point of view where we have seen many a times of people who try to gain social relevance and admiration on such networks by using other peoples scandals , they come , they go and they are forgotten just like the past one we buried many will remember the “shwashwis”and “woza nazo” gossip column where are the now , are we not one to the next one ! Popularity at all times that is sustainable is based on a interest that is pure and based on you only...Now the next time another scandal is blown on to your “timeline” ask yourself what good or self betterment are you achieving by feeding into this silly game as there is a huge difference between reporting and just plain down maliciousness.

I WROTE THIS NOT TO START A WAR BUT TO PLANT SEEDS OF THOUGHT INTO THE READERS MIND…WHETHER ONE CHOOSES TO ENTERTAIN IT OR DON’T ENETERTAIN IT LIES WITHIN YOUR “TRUTH” .
